Professional Pilot Program

The Riverside Flight Academy’s professional pilot training program is a structured training path designed to take you from zero experience to a commercial pilot with the ratings and flight hours needed to start a career. We train under FAA Part 141 guidelines.

Private Pilot Certificate (PPL): The foundational certificate that teaches basic aircraft control, flight maneuvers, cross country, night and solo flying. 50 hours

Instrument Rating (IR): Training to navigate strictly by instruments through low visibility and adverse weather conditions. 40 Hours

Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL): Training required to legally fly for compensation or hire. We add advanced maneuvers, longer cross country, more night flying, both dual and solo. 80 Hours

Certified Flight Instructor(CFI): The standard route to build the required flight hours toward an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimum. Solidify your skills by building experience instructing other students. 20 Hours

This Professional training program program is based on 190 total flight hours and will take around 8-12 months and cost around $49,000.  (everyone learns at a different pace but if you apply yourself this is achievable with good or better progress)

Once you get a bit of comfort instructing, you will want to add an Instrument Instructor(CFII), Multi Engine Rating(MEL) and a Multi Engine Instructor(MEI) so you can build all around better experience and skills to be ready for that next level job. Good thing is that now you’re all ready being paid to fly.
